I am Alison Lane of  Be Active with Alison.

I may process “personal data” and/or “special category data” as defined in UK data protection legislation. 

This processing may be on my own behalf or on behalf of my clients– either way I process data as part of the contracted services and/or my administration.

I realise the importance of confidentiality. 

Data may be processed on paper and/or in electronic formats. When processed electronically, data may be held on a cloud based system and/or on a local server. Regardless of how data is processed, all feasible security measures are in place. Data is held as long as it is relevant to the purpose for collection and/or if there is a statutory retention period.

All data is destroyed by secure means when no longer required. 

Data may be shared with third parties as part of our contracted services and/or if we are required by law to do so. We cannot accept any liability for any processing conducted by a third party outside my remit. 

As part of my compliance, I have conducted a cookie audit on my website. Cookies are internet files used by the system to view websites and their content. I utilise analytical cookies to help us monitor and develop the site. You are at liberty to turn off cookies through your browser but you should be aware that this may affect your viewing experience. 

None of the above affects your rights under the legislation, in particular your right to access the data we hold on you. 

If you wish to request a copy of your data, please submit it in writing / email to Be Active with Alison. Please include enough information to enable us to identify you and search for appropriate data.

CCTV Policy

Be Active with Alison 

1. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to explain how CCTV is used by Be Active with Alison  to protect the safety, wellbeing, and security of both clients and the trainers. CCTV is operated in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. Scope

This policy applies to CCTV systems used:

Within the home gym training environment

At the trainer’s residential premises where sessions take place

During mobile training sessions where portable recording devices may be used for safety purposes

3. Lawful Basis for CCTV Use

CCTV is used under legitimate business and safeguarding interests, including:

Ensuring client and trainer safety

Safeguarding against false allegations or disputes

Preventing crime, harassment, or misconduct

Supporting insurance and legal protection

Monitoring security of training equipment and property

CCTV will never be used for surveillance unrelated to safety or professional protection.

4. CCTV Locations and Operation

Home Gym

Cameras are positioned only in training areas and external security areas.

CCTV will never be installed in private areas including toilets, changing areas, or living spaces not used for training.

Clear signage will inform clients that CCTV is in operation before entering the training space.

Visiting Clients

Recording devices may be used during sessions where necessary for personal safety or safeguarding.

Clients will always be informed prior to any recording taking place.

Recording will only take place in agreed training areas.

5. Audio Recording

Audio recording will only be used where reasonably necessary for safeguarding or protection purposes and clients will be informed if audio is being captured.

6. Storage and Security of Footage

CCTV footage is stored securely using password-protected and encrypted systems where possible.

Only Be Active with Alison & Ellie Lane Personal Training has access to recorded footage.

Footage is normally retained for up to 30 days, unless required for incident investigation, insurance claims, or legal proceedings.

Footage is permanently deleted once no longer required.

7. Sharing of CCTV Footage

Footage may be shared only where legally or professionally necessary, including with:

Police or law enforcement agencies

Insurance companies

Legal advisors or regulatory authorities

Footage will never be used for marketing, social media, or promotional purposes without written client consent.

8. Client Rights

Individuals recorded by CCTV have the right to:

Request access to footage showing them

Request deletion of footage where legally applicable

Raise concerns about CCTV use

Requests must be made in writing to:

9. Responsibilities

Equipment is maintained and secure
