Actively Active Blog Spot

You don't have to attend fitness classes or go to the gym to stay active. There are many other enjoyable ways to move and be active that will help keep you physically and mentally fit and healthy while also having fun. It's true what they say about 'use it or lose it,' so it's crucial that we discover activities we enjoy to maintain our health and wellness. If you want to be able to walk up that hill when you're 70, you need to keep moving now. 


If you enjoy something, you are more likely to stick with it. 


I plan to write about all the activities I love that help me stay physically and mentally active and healthy. While I don't particularly enjoy cycling, that doesn’t mean I won’t take my bike out for a ride. The same goes for swimming, and since I can't run anymore due to a back issue, I focus on other pursuits I enjoy, such as walking, hiking, exercise to music, strength and conditioning workouts, pilates, and walking rugby. All these activities will get me moving, increase my heart rate, allow me to meet new people, and promote my health and wellness. 


I still intend to be climbing those mountains in the Lake District when I'm 70, which is still quite a few years away!
